Emergent Computing studies and uses biologically and socially inspired systems in which complex behaviour at the global level emerges from the interaction of a set of simple components. The goal of Emergent Computing is to solve complex real-world problems. We need methods that find acceptable solutions in a constrained amount of time. Solutions are also required to be robust and may evolve under changing circumstances. Many biological and social systems are very good at doing exactly this, and they can be a great source of inspiration to design new methods for problem solving. We invite papers in all the areas of Emergent Computing. Workshop topics include, but are not limited to:
Submissions Paper submissions should be no longer than ten pages, and must be written in English, following the IEEE double column format, in letter size . To submit a paper, use the following webpage: If this is not possible, please contact the workshop chair. Participants will be selected based on refereed submissions. All accepted papers will be presented at the workshop as an oral presentation or as a poster. A digital version of the proceedings of the workshop will be available at the conference. A selection of papers will appear in the main conference proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society. Journal Fundamenta Informaticae An extended version of the best papers presented in the workshop will be considered, to be published in the Fundamenta Informaticae Journal (ISI indexed). International Journal of Natural Computing Research Some selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version for the International Journal of Natural Computing Research.
